Last week, we finished-up on the kitchen area in the basement of the VFW in Bryan, Ohio. To start with, it had an old tile floor that we had to remove (fun!). After hours of scraping, shot-blasting and cleaning, the floor was ready for our prime coat of epoxy.
We put another coat of epoxy (with vinyl flakes thrown in) and yet another clear coat over the flakes the next day. Then we were ready to put the final coat of urethane over the whole thing. That’s right – four coats (actually five, if you count the layer of vinyl flakes as a coat) were applied to this old and ugly floor.
Not ugly anymore, the VFW has a beautiful seamless floor that’s easy to clean!
