Tuscan Slate – Modern Builder’s Supply Showroom (close-up)
Yesterday we worked a little concrete stain / antique magic on our “Tuscan Slate” application. We did this after first applying a second slate trowel texture on Monday over the complete surface of our decorative concrete project at Modern Builder’s Supply in Defiance, Ohio.
We solved the first roadblock on this project by filling in a couple of large holes in the floor with our FlexKrete product. After two long days of carpet glue grinding, we had to become decorative concrete “Ghost Busters” to hide the old tile ghosting that was happening through our two base coats.
After putting an industrial UV resistant clear epoxy over the floor today we only have one day left to go to apply our urethane top-coat (big windows at the end of the South hallway so UV protection was essential).
Like the title of this post says, we’ve got some serious stain going on – we added an abundance of chocolate pigment to our antique product and threw in a couple of our faux tricks into the process to create this look.
Stay tuned for the final post (with video) to see the complete project – from start to finish!
