First Slate Texture Completed
After troweling down the first layer of polymer cement last Wednesday and then going with a second full base coat on Thursday, we were ready to apply the first texture coat on the showroom floor that we’ve been working on.
We thought it was necessary to utilize a second base coat (with lots of pigment) in an attempt to try to hide the old tile ghosting that was happening.
Even when we came back on Friday (after two full base coats being down), we still could see the indication of old tile (it was better than just one coat – but far from perfect).
With the layer of our “Tuscan Slate” texture, we pretty much eliminated any look of tile showing through the different coats. The varied look (texture and color) of the troweled mix really helped to mask any imperfections showing through.
