The VFW floor logo is finished – after a couple of coats of 100% solids clear epoxy and a couple of coats of clear urethane.
Since the logo itself was extremely slippery (like a sheet of ice) after applying all those clear layers, we had to roll in a bit of aluminum oxide in the final urethane coat for slip resistance.
The basement floor here turned-out good in spite of how bad the condition of the floor was after we removed the tile.
Even though the logo is finished, the rest of the room is not – we’ll have to go back in January to do more work. Long story short – there was a mix-up in the color blend and we’re going to have to put down another chip layer with a different color blend of chips. Also, they have more areas in the building that are needing a makeover as well (and we’ll probably be working on those in the spring).
Here’s a video of the complete project (well . . . so far):
The new court was used Tuesday night for West Virginia University’s men’s basketball game with Morehead State.
My favorite thing to look at was the Logo mats! They are printed in different shapes and contain all different sayings and logos! Next time I walk into a business and see a logo on the floor I will remember the term trade show …
