Concrete Sealer
Do It Yourself

The reason your concrete is ugly (or soon will be) is because you haven’t had it sealed in years & probably since it was installed…right?  Go ahead, pour some water on it – what do you see?  If your concrete darkens-up and absorbs water like a “big hard sponge” then it is UNSEALED & open for damage.

You’re just asking for trouble if you’re letting water & everything else soak right down into your concrete.  Did you know that water expands up to 9% when it freezes?  That’s why it will pit, pop, crack & flake off!

Concrete Penetrating DIY Sealer

Besides the obvious damage caused by salt & ice melting chemicals, there are plenty of other bad things that are damaging it right now (lawn fertilizer, oil, gas, anti-freeze, UV rays, rain containing high amounts of nitric & sulfuric acids . . . & so on).  It’s going to keep ROTTING FROM THE INSIDE OUT unless you do something to protect it – CAN YOU REALLY AFFORD AN EXPENSIVE TEAR-OUT & REPLACEMENT?

Why is our sealer better?

Unlike film-forming acrylic sealers, the penetrating sealer that we use is a reactive product that chemically alters the surface of the concrete (by glassifying it) creating a water resistant membrane protecting the surface from water penetration that causes damage. At the same time, the appearance (color) and texture of the surface is not changed in any way like other sealers do.

"The Concrete Protector" is the highest quality penetrating hydrophobic sealer on the market today. It is formulated, packaged and delivered with the environment in mind - each one quart bottle of super concentrated "Concrete Protector" produces two and a half gallons of high quality sealer for 425 - 500 sq ft of coverage.

Wash your concrete and spray on! It's that easy! VOC compliant with Federal and local VOC laws. Packed in concentrated quart sized bottles to save on shipping (why pay for shipping water when you can add it?) and when mixed with water it makes 2.5 gallons of sealer (You dilute the concentrated sealer 9:1 with water or 2 1/4 gallons of water to 1 quart of concentrated concrete protector).

Concentrated Driveway Sealer - DIY Bottles

How much does it cost?

You can purchase The Concrete Protector Penetrating Sealer from us at $77.05 per bottle and apply it yourself for around .19 a sq ft.  The quart sized bottles of penetrating sealer are concentrated and make 2.5 gallons of ready-to-use sealer when mixed with water (coverage rate is 425-500 sq ft per 2.5 gallons of mixed sealer).

The few hundred dollars’ worth of protection on a typical driveway is better than the thousands of dollars it would cost to replace!

Easy Mixing

This is how we quickly make 2.5 gallons of sealer:

Pour 2.25 gallons of water (9 quarts) into a five gallon plastic bucket.
Open concentrated quart-sized bottle of sealer and pour into the bucket.
Mix thoroughly (minute or so) with either a drill and a mixing paddle or a large paint stick.

You now have your 2.5 gallons of ready-to-use sealer!

Applying the sealer

Pour the mixed sealer into a pump-up pressure sprayer and spray a fine mist onto the surface of the concrete (we use a battery operated pressure sprayer that is attached to a hand cart but any plastic pump-up pressure should work fine).
Apply to the point of almost puddling
Evenly spread the sealer back and forth with a stiff bristled broom to spread-out any runs.

Temps

Good temperature range at time of application - between 50 - 95 degrees Fahrenheit:  50 degrees Fahrenheit on the low end (with no freezing that night) and no warmer than 95 degrees Fahrenheit on the high end.

How long does it last?

Here's one of those "Frequently Asked Questions" that we always get:

As far as longevity of the sealer goes, in the first 3 years you'll have excellent protection, ok protection in years 4-5 and after that you should consider having it resealed.  These are just general guidelines - many things will factor into how long it's expected to protect the concrete.
